About Culture51

Culture51's mission is to teach people how to market online with the highest levels of integrity, authenticity, and vision. Our "philopractical" approach is grounded in years of experience with copywriting, direct response marketing & search engine optimization, and more recently social media and membership site strategy. We know the brass tacks of how to sell online, but we're most turned on by what happens when these methods are used for a deeper, more meaningful purpose.

In our sophisticated, mediated, modern economy, in which creativity and ideas change the world, an entirely new approach to marketing is needed to create the future we dream is possible. Culture51 aims to lead the way into that future.

Our Team:

Sam Rosen

Sam Rosen is Chief Executive Officer of Culture51. In 2002, after completing his freshman year at the University of Rochester, Sam served with City Year Boston, an AmeriCorps organization. For his service, Sam was recognized with both national and local awards. He then was selected as a Fellow for the United Leaders’ Institute for Political Service, where he wrote state legislation and developed training programs for B.E.L.L. (Building Educated Leaders for Life). Following United Leaders, Sam worked as National Field and Media Director for the Save AmeriCorps Coalition. In this position, he was charged with mobilizing thousands of organizations and media outlets across America for a nationally televised event in Washington, DC.

In 2004, Sam enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Pennsylvania. During his first semester, he became a Senior Partner in The Locus Group, a small business consulting firm he started with students from the Wharton Business School that raised over $250,000 in capital for small businesses in West Philadelphia. After the Locus Consulting Group, Sam became a partner in an online startup that grew to over $1 million in sales, consulted to another startup that now has a multi-million dollar valuation and heavy venture-capital financing, and helped turn around an e-commerce software company focused on small businesses. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in Spring, 2007. For Culture51, Sam is working closely with team members, service providers, and partners to help our ThoughtLead platform get to market successfully. He also leads the Evolutionary Marketer online community.

While with Prism, in addition to performing in over 250 concerts, Steve helped commission 10 new works for the ensemble, coordinated logistics and promotion for more than 100 concerts, and recorded two compact discs. As a Field Sales Manager for Vector Marketing, Steve ranked in the top 10 to 20 individual performers in the Midwest region for weekly sales figures during the summers of 1995 and 1996.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music, where he also received the Director’s Award in Chamber Music; his Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland, College Park; and his Master of Arts degree in Conscious Evolution from the Graduate Institute in Milford, CT. Jake Stetser

Jake is the Lead Technology Advisor for Culture51, and he is currently working on taking the ThoughtLead platform from private beta to a public launch in Spring/Summer 2009.

As CIO of Zaadz.com and Sr. Community Architect of the Gaia Community, Jake helped design, build and grow a community from fledging beginnings to 220,000+ members. He managed a team of six developers spread around the world, actively connected with members on personal and professional levels to understand their needs, worked with the executive team to steer the direction of the community and related projects, and designed the foundations and structure of much of the current community with three goals in mind: connection, conversation, and growth.

Additionally, Jake served as Zaadz' technology advisor during acquisition talks with a blue chip company in the LOHAS sector, and developed several core features of Gaia.com.
